Tragic Death of 26-Year-Old Dancer in West Yorkshire: Reckless Sex Game Gone Wrong

A 26-year-old dancer, Georgia May Brooke, died in West Yorkshire after being strangled by her boyfriend, Luke Cannon, in a "reckless sex game gone wrong." The incident occurred in February 2022, and the coroner, Martin Fleming, revealed that drugs may have played a factor in the tragedy.

Cannon called authorities after Brooke went into cardiac arrest and was rushed to a nearby hospital via ambulance. Police opened a probe into Cannon but found him dead before a probe could begin. Cannon tried to contact her mother but failed, and then drove to a wooded area and died by suicide. A stranger found his body the following morning in West Yorkshire. Fleming said that Georgia was "unlawfully killed," suggesting Cannon likely would have faced criminal charges if he was still alive.

The couple's sexual practices were both dangerous and reckless, with drug use and excessive force used to strangle his partner. There was no evidence that Cannon meant to harm his partner. Cannon was seen on CCTV footage crying, pacing around, and in a generally distressed state.

Fleming hopes Brooke's death serves as a warning to couples that their sex acts can have fatal consequences.
