TikTok Challenges YouTube with 60-Minute Videos: Testing Long-Form Content!

TikTok, a popular digital platform known for its short videos, is now allowing users to upload clips as long as 60 minutes. Since its launch in the U.S. in 2017, TikTok has allowed users to share videos lasting up to 10 minutes. In January, it granted content creators the ability to share videos as long as 30 minutes, while subscription-holders can upload 20-minute clips. Now, TikTok is mulling whether to increase the length of videos featured on the platform.

The company confirmed that certain users can now post 60-minute clips, but the feature is likely not to be widely released. TikTok is in a trial period and often experiments with features that do not become permanent. The platform's popularity has prompted other platforms like Meta and YouTube to add similar short-form video feeds. TikTok has been pushing more into longer content, even as its future in the U.S. becomes uncertain. In April, President Joe Biden enacted a law that could result in a nationwide TikTok ban if ByteDance fails to sell its stake within a year.
