Yes! Let’s Fix Income Inequality!

As many of you, I, too, suffered through our nation’s State Of The Union address – this president’s fifth. Aside from that I can barely tolerate the sound of his voice any longer (cuz all I hear is lie lie lie), I listened with contempt as our fearless leader, King Obama, made another of his signature teleprompted efforts to placate his base. He essentially promised these delusional dolts that he would unabashedly continue to transform America into Candyland during the remainder of his tenure, and, in so doing, eradicate the ungodly plague of income inequality in order to set the earth back on its axis again.

candylandKing Obama’s plan to save America by “fixing” income inequality is ludicrous. He acts at though, through his imperial powers, he can make us all ‘equal to one another’ by manipulating the amount of money we earn. Anyone with a stitch of common sense knows that no one – not even His Royal Highness, Barack Hussein Obama, can do this. Why? Because in this democratic republic where we operate within the framework of a capitalistic, free market economic system, there WILL BE winners and losers. Did I just dare say that? Yes. There will be. Some of us will work smarter, some will squander potential opportunity. Some of us will have parents who encourage (and even pay for) college, some won’t. Some of us will be blessed with a bit more business savvy and, there again, some folks just won’t make the grade. And what about the folks who choose a not-so-lucrative career path they love? Should we now swoop in in full superhero regalia to save the day, tucking into their meager paychecks stolen taxpayer dollars to keep them from feeling slighted? Or what about the women who are being regarded as idiots who cannot fend for themselves? Do we run a side-by-side comparison of all male to female earnings in order to decide who’s being gypped and raise their pay too? I don’t think so.

America is a world super power. It is the land of liberty. It is the greatest nation on the planet. And it did not reach these heights because its leaders go around taking from those who excel and giving to those who don’t. It is the state of INEQUALITY itself, the idea that some of us aspire to bigger and better things, that drives others among us to do the same. It is NOT that we should all make the same amount of money but that we are all given the opportunity to make the most of our lives in light of our God-given, inalienable rights of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Pursuit of happiness. Happiness is not given to us – and certainly not in the form of government handouts. Under this president, however, playing Candy Man is but a means to an eventual end – maybe not within his 8 years – but soon enough.

sunshinelollipopsrainbowsThe idea of somehow “fixing” income inequality might sound good to some folks at first blush, and perhaps always music to the ears of those Kumbaya diehards who believe ‘it is only fair’ for everyone to be ‘equal’. The truth is that not only is it a terrible idea that flies in the face of that pesky document called The Constitution, but is also, outside of full-on communism, an entirely unattainable goal. And I’ll say to you ladies out there about this exactly what I said about the faux war on women: watch out! This is yet another one of those issues aimed straight at the fairer sex that will, no doubt, have many of us waxing sentimental for the feminist revolution of the 60’s. Stop. Think. Cuz there ain’t no way in heck that your income – or anyone else’s for that matter – is ever gonna be ‘equalized’ by a man who, thus far, has dug us into a deep financial hole, who has made deals with devils, and who has fabricated and/or exaggerated every one of his ‘achievements’ to date. Does anyone – male or female – really think that the same man is going to get you a bigger, more ‘equitable’ paycheck – if it were even possible – when he has yet to truly accomplish anything else?
