WHOA! Gingrich Says Romney is “Sucking Up” To Trump

Honestly, this was something I didn’t expect to hear from former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich. Newt joined Laura Ingraham on her show and spoke boldly about how Governor Mitt Romney was trying to get back in good graces with President-elect Donald Trump.

“There’s a scene in ‘Pretty Woman’ where Richard Gere goes up to the salesman on Rodeo Drive and says, ‘We need a little sucking up here,’” Gingrich told conservative talk-show host Laura Ingraham. “You have never, ever in your career seen a serious adult who’s wealthy, independent, has been a presidential nominee, suck up at the rate that Mitt Romney is sucking up.”

Unless Romney was picking up the bill I would hardly consider it sucking up. Seems like Trump is courting him. Granted, I’m sure Mitt is saying all the right things because he knows that Secretary if State is a stepping stone to the presidency.

Listen to Newt speak here

Newt wanted to be Secretary of State. I think it would have actually been a good role for him, too. Lots of pomp and circumstance for a vainglorious man who has always enjoyed the trappings of power but whose presidential aspirations have failed him.

Someone who loves to talk to anyone, and can give a nice speech. Certainly far more articulate and knowledgeable about the world at large than someone like Rudy. Mitt is a better choice because he’s a more reasonable man with better morals, but Newt at State would have been a lot of fun.
