I am very regularly on President Trump, defending him and yet holding him accountable for what I think are bad mistakes but wow. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is an embarrassment. She lacks in the mental department.
Whoever writes her statements and questions needs to use smaller words as this idiot can’t even read those long words much less understand them.
Amazingly funny how out of her league she is but she undoubtedly feels intellectually empowered by the position she holds. And while I’ve complained about the exorbitant amount of free coverage she gets, I have to admit that her shenanigans are quite entertaining.
Ocasio-Cortez used her time during the hearing to push her political agenda against Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and against the fossil fuel industry.
“Why was the bank involved in the caging of children and financing the caging of children to begin with?” Ocasio-Cortez asked.
“I don’t know how to answer that question because we weren’t,” Sloan responded.
“Uh, so in finan–, you’ve, you were financing, involved in debt financing in CoreCivic and GEO group, correct?” Ocasio-Cortez responded.
“For a period of time, we were involved in financing one of the firms, we are not anymore,” Sloan responded. “I’m not familiar with the specific assertion you are making, we were not involved in that.” [excerpt via Daily Wire]
The calm responses destroyed her smug line of specious questioning cooly reframed her agenda. He was good. He knew exactly where she was going to go. She got busted, but she hung in there.
She got winged, but not fatally wounded. She has no second act – that is her chief liability. The more she is on the stage, the quicker she will burn out. There is no there, there unless pre-programmed.
Why on earth would the bank be responsible? It is stupid of her to ask that they take responsibility for what the loans were for; it is the borrower who should be responsible. And she majored in finance? The scariest part is that several million people nod their head in agreement at her idiotic line of questioning. To them, she makes perfect sense.
Make no mistake; this is how the left intends to go after the gun and ammo industries. They will pass legislation that allows a manufacturer to be held liable for every gun death. Then they will extend that to hold liable the material suppliers, and the shipping companies and the banks and any other business that is in any way remotely connected to a gun or ammo manufacturer. Once no other companies can afford the liability of doing business with the gun industry, they will effectively be strangled out of business, all without ever passing legislation to ban guns.
There is a reason why activist freshman representatives are generally not placed on committees. But when you have brain-dead senior reps like Waters around, I guess the bar is pretty low to start.
