Virginia Faith and Freedom Coalition Shows Strong GOTV Presence days before Governor Election

According to a new poll, Democrat Terry McAuliffe’s lead over Republican Ken Cuccinelli has shrunk to 2 points in the Virginia gubernatorial race (42% to 40%, with Libertarian Robert Sarvis at 13%). At the beginning of the month, McAuliffe was up five points (43% to 38%), suggesting Cuccinelli is gaining momentum going into the last weekend of the election. The survey was conducted October 25 to October 30, with 874 likely voters at a 3.24% margin of error.

I got a chance to speak to Travis Korson, Virginia Field Director for the Faith and Freedom Coalition (FFC) here in Arlington, Virginia. It was a privilege to speak to him and hear what the organization was accomplishing for this election. In driving here to this location, I noticed a diverse group of young people throughout the neighborhoods walking door to door informing citizens that there is an election on Tuesday and their vote is very important.

Faith and Freedom connecting with minorities through door to door, feet on the ground hard work.

One thing that I totally admired was that the phone operators were not telling the callers who to vote for which I was surprised with. They were non-stop in making sure that voters new both sides of the argument if asked and were very cordial.

In speaking with Travis, I found that he was very informed and access ready to let me know what FFC was doing and how they were doing it. I told Travis that I wanted to do a three minute interview but his answers were so great I decided to go just a bit further. Please share this interview so that you also understand what Faith and Freedom does and how important they are.
