It takes courage to speak out about your personal beliefs, no matter who you are. Whether you write, do video blogging, give speeches or just have conversations with others, when you share your personal beliefs and convictions with others, it takes courage. Sadly, in many cases it takes an extraordinary type of courage for black conservatives to speak out on the things that matter to them because many in the black community shun those who dare to step out of line with the narrative that the Democrat party has taught them to accept.
I’m encouraged by the growing number of black conservatives who are choosing to stand up and use their voices to enlighten, encourage and in many cases, call out the lies that have been told to black Americans, despite the criticism that they are bound to receive.
My friend Nadra Enzi, also known as Captain Black, or the self described “Hood Conservative” is one of those people. He has been creating YouTube videos and recently one in particular stuck out to me.
In the video below, Captain Black talks about what he refers to as “hurt slaves.” Here is his definition of the term:
You have a group of black folks with terminally low self esteem, whom I call the hurt slaves. And memo to all white people: you can’t apologize enough, you can’t bribe enough, through taxpayer or privately funded initiatives, to undo somebody’s chronic sense of inferiority.
In 2014, I find it incredulous, bordering on insane, when I encounter American black people who talk about slavery; some of whom can’t even spell slavery.
