Conservative radio show host Michael Savage is smart and right on most issues, but he went too far when he bashes a military veteran with PTSD on his radio show last week.
At the beginning of the segment, Savage was originally talking about a tunnel in California that is being planned to be named after Robin Williams. He wasn’t pleased with the idea, saying this gives a bad impression because of Williams committing suicide.
Bob, who is now 60 years old, is from Cleveland, Ohio, called into the show and said he had no problem with the idea of renaming the tunnel, talks about mental illness and how he himself began suffering from PTSD when he was 20. Savage asked him specifically what happened to Bob that caused his PTSD, but he said he didn’t want to relive the memories, so he didn’t want to answer the question.
At this point is when Savage gets outraged and starts bashing Bob, claiming he’s just making a sob story about it and says people with PTSD were losers. Below is the full segment. I usually agree with Mr. Savage on most issues, which is why I’m very disappointed with the way he treated this veteran. Not only was it an insult to Bob, but it was to all veterans, including those that are suffering from PTSD or any type of mental illness.
