Ukrainian Nightmare, In Their Own Words

There has been something missing with the coverage of the Russian seizing of the Crimea peninsula.  I wanted to get beyond the 30 second sound bite heard on the National media programs and sites.  The crisis in the Ukraine deserves more than a glossing over by the mainstream media.  It deserves more attention paid to exactly what the Ukrainian leadership’s goals and desires now and in the future are and will be.  What exactly do the Ukrainians have to say about the invasion of Russian troops into their Nation?  Most if not all of the reporting here in America has focused on what will Obama do, or more to the point, not do?  Early in the last week of March, PBS’ Margaret Warner held an interview with Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of the Ukraine.  In it he explained exactly what the rest of us want to know about what he and his Nation are prepared to do and why his Nation has done what it has done so far in this Ukrainian national crisis.

Candidly the Prime Minister is deeply disappointed in the response from the United States and the Ukraine’s supposed allies in the European Union.  Specifically the Prime Minister is of the  opinion that his Nation has been abandoned by the United States, United Kingdom, and obviously Russia.  Mr. Yatsenyuk stated that the reason the Ukrainian military has not fought back against the Russian aggression is, he wanted the rest of the World to see what the Russians were doing, and he also wanted to prevent the bloodshed he knew would happen as the Ukrainian military is far from being able to hold up against the military capabilities of the Vladimir Putin controlled Russian military.   He also doesn’t want another all out war started when maybe, and that is a huge maybe, diplomatic and economic sanctions can possible bring Vladimir to join the rest of the free world and stop his aggression into the Ukraine.  Lets hear what Mr. Yatsenyuk has to say about Czar Vladimir and our dear “Flexible” Barack.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of the Ukraine, explains his Nation’s actions so far and what they are prepared to do in the future. See the video at the top of the screen.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of the Ukraine, asks that those who celebrated the signing of the Budapest Agreement, to step up and help his Nation as the Ukraine has acted in good faith in accordance with the Budapest agreement.

As it seems so many can not understand what Vladimir Putin’s ultimate goal by invading the Ukraine is supposed to be.  Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of the Ukraine,  explains Putin’s goal and leaves NO doubt about what the Russian’s intentions are.

Arseniy Yatsenyuk, Prime Minister of the Ukraine, tells us if the Russians and the Ukrainians will ever be able to coexist as neighbors.  He also issues a warning to those who dare to reach across the aisle in the spirit of mutual friendship.

Now that you have heard it from the Ukrainian Prime Minister himself, what should the free world do now?  Allow Putin to do his aggressive “Hitler” style dance across Eastern Europe as was done in the middle and late 1930s.  Or does the United Kingdom and the United States who encouraged and proclaimed the Ukraine as a peaceful neighbor to the World for giving up it’s Nuclear Arsenal, preventing further  proliferation of these weapons after the fall of the former U.S.S.R , sit back and let Putin become the next in a long line of Russian despots to threaten World peace?

Putin will not stop on his own.  Why should he, he wants to get the band back together and relive his Communistic youth.

Does the free World have the wherewithal to help the Ukraine or will it let Putin have his way because the right thing to do is also the most difficult?  What is it said…an ounce of prevention beats a pound of cure.

Only if we have the will to do what is needed on the World stage will we apply the ounce of prevention.  Otherwise….Sorry Arseniy!
