Sen. John McCain has attacked President Trump and all of his supporters who faithfully love this country.
Accepting the prestigious Liberty Medal from the National Constitution Center, here is what McCain said:
“To abandon the ideals we have advanced around the globe, to refuse the obligations of international leadership for the sake of some half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems is as unpatriotic as an attachment to any other tired dogma of the past that Americans consigned to the ash heap of history.”
Unfortunately, John McCain doesn’t know the difference between nationalism and patriotism. Flowery speeches by him and his establishment buddies are not going to save this country. McCain has been in the Congress for many years and does not want change because the “status quo” works for him and it lines his pockets. To hell with the people.
You can’t tell me McCain thinks he can say whatever he wants to about Trump and expect the President to be quiet. That’s idiotic.
The lesson of the past 18 months is that, if the GOP establishment had bothered to take some half-measures to address the anger of the populist right, they might have been able to pull them into the party rather than watch helplessly as Trump took over.
It’s disappointing to see a “Republican war hero” demonstrate so little character but appears now to be petty and vindictive. He’s ill and facing eternity. You would think he might choose to do the right thing by his party and America. Instead, it appears he’ll continue to obstruct Trump‘s agenda till his last breath. It is sad to watch.
McCain, while accepting the Liberty Medal in Philadelphia on Monday night, warned the United States against turning toward “half-baked, spurious nationalism cooked up by people who would rather find scapegoats than solve problems.”
The speech was a repudiation of Trump, who the Arizona Republican has long feuded with, and the worldview that catapulted him to office.
Trump told Chris Plante of “The Chris Plante Show” on Tuesday that he heard the criticism and warned McCain to be careful.
“He was taking shots at you again yesterday,” Plante said. “You heard what he said yesterday, Sen. McCain?”
“Yeah, well I hear it. And people have to be careful because at some point I fight back,” Trump said. “I’m being very nice. I’m being very, very nice. But at some point I fight back, and it won’t be pretty.”
Responding to Trump’s threat, McCain bluntly told reporters Tuesday: “I’ve faced far greater challenges than this.”
McCain has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that he is NOT working for us. That begs the question; “who is John McCain working for?”
Not only is McCain very, VERY vindictive, but he is also mentally and physically compromised by a fast-growing tumor in his brain which may affect his judgment. I truly believe McCain is jealous of President Trump. You don’t have to like the president, but it’s your duty as a congressman or woman to work with the president and the parties to get things done to help the country and the American citizens. Not sit back like he and many others have done and criticize what President Trump is trying to accomplish.
They all should be ashamed of themselves for the lack of work they have not done. It seems to me obstruction takes more effort than to work on the things that need fixing.
McCain’s days of using his time as an American soldier to cover his contempt for our country and President are over. He has destroyed his legacy and solidified his insignificance!
