President Trump’s lawyers have advised him not to sit down with Special Counsel Robert Mueller if called to do for this investigation into so-called Russian collusion.
It’s been an entire year, and the Mueller investigation team has been prying, picking and poking into things but has yet produced anything even close to proving the Trump campaign team colluded with the Russian government to win the 2016 election.
Any lawyer would tell him to refuse to answer questions.
If Mueller wants to ask Trump questions, he should send them to the White House in written form, and they will be answered and sent back to the special counsel.
Why submit to an interview? If all Mueller wants is his questions answered why won’t written questions answered in writing be enough. The answers will be the same. If Mueller doesn’t accept this, then Trump should tell him no.

His lawyers are concerned that the president, who has a history of making false statements and contradicting himself, could be charged with lying to investigators. Their stance puts them at odds with Mr. Trump, who has said publicly and privately that he is eager to speak with Mr. Mueller as part of the investigation into possible ties between his associates and Russia’s election interference, and whether he obstructed justice.
Mr. Trump’s decision about whether to speak to prosecutors, expected in the coming weeks, will shape one of the most consequential moments of the investigation. Refusing to sit for an interview opens the possibility that Mr. Mueller will subpoena the president to testify before a grand jury, setting up a court fight that would dramatically escalate the investigation and could be decided by the Supreme Court.

President Trump's lawyers are very wise in advising him to avoid an interrogation by DNC hatchet-man Bob Mueller. Mueller has gone off the rails from his mandate to look for Russian collusion. There is none, he won't find any, he's frustrated and he's looking to take it on Trump!

I hope Trump doesn’t allow himself to be interviewed. He has nothing to win and everything to lose. Mueller currently has zero evidence, and that would be his “Hail Mary.”
Just for clarification, a prosecutor can indict a ham sandwich so, if Mueller has evidence he would have already been indicted.
