It’s not a shock that Sports Illustrated is collapsing.
Like Gillette, Sports Illustrated decided to thumb their noses at their male customer base, and push their unpopular, radical feminist agenda instead.
The reason that men (and many women) loved the “Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue” was because the models were stunning in the most “conventional” ways, which I’m sorry – but conventional is still the best way.
Deal with it.

I’m a heterosexual female and I loved the issue because I love looking at pretty models in cool and fashionable bikinis in gorgeous locations. Who doesn’t?
I’ll tell you who doesn’t…angry, bitter feminists, that’s who.
So instead of allowing the vast majority of people enjoy conventional beauty, the social justice warriors had to butt-in and inject their “every size is beautiful” agenda into the issue, and ruin everything.
Plus-size model Hunter McGrady is unveiling her “God-given” body once again for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit.
The magazine recently revealed the 25-year-old Los Angeles native will be appearing in the 2019 issue in a skimpy swimsuit for the first time.
McGrady previously appeared in Sports Illustrated Swimsuit during the publication’s 2017 Model Search where she posed in body paint. It took a team of several different women painting for over 12 hours to create the seemingly there suit before she frolicked on the beaches of Anguilla. However, Brazilian model Anne de Paula went on to win the fan vote. [Fox News]
In addition, Sports Illustrated also used their “Swimsuit Issue” to push the “Burkini,” a full body coverup suit that Muslim women are wearing to the beach.
We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Halima Aden is the newest member of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit family, making history as the first Muslim model to wear a hijab and burkini in the magazine.
The Somali-American model was born in Kenya at the Kakuma Refugee Camp, where she lived until the age of seven before moving to the United States. For her SI Swimsuit rookie spread, we couldn’t think of a more perfect place travel than her birth country, where she shot at Watamu Beach with photographer Yu Tsai. [Sports Illustrated]
How many men do you know that want to look at obese women and women wearing bukras on the beach?

Probably not a lot…and that’s why Sports Illustrated is collapsing, no matter what they say, or what stupid excuses they come up with, just like Gillette, they abandoned their customer base and lost big.
The owner of Sports Illustrated, the iconic sports magazine that has suffered a steep decline in recent years along with the broader magazine industry, announced Thursday that it would be laying off a portion of its staff.
The company declined to detail how many employees were dismissed, but The Wall Street Journal reported that 40 people at the magazine had lost their jobs.
The layoffs caused a wave of response from employees, with many laid-off staffers tweeting news of their departures.
“Today was my last at Sports Illustrated as NBA editor,” tweeted DeAntae Prince.
“After six years at @SInow, it’s over,” tweeted Joan Niesen, a staff writer who covered college football.
The Sports Illustrated staffers are the latest victims of the downsizing affecting digital and print media, which has struggled to retain advertising revenue as marketers have shifted their spending to tech platforms.
Sports Illustrated was one of the flagship titles of Time Inc., which was acquired by the women-focused magazine company Meredith Corporation in 2018. The 65-year-old magazine was famed for covers featuring boxer Muhammad Ali and soccer player Brandi Chastain and writers such as Frank Deford and Dan Jenkins.
The Sports Illustrated United Twitter account, run by employees of Sports Illustrated, posted this message: “Imagine walking into a room, some individuals after 25+ years of service to a brand, and having a person who was not even the one who chose to terminate your position, telling you coldly your job is gone. After hours and hours of waiting.”
Staff were expected to attend transition meetings Thursday, but they were abruptly canceled after reports that the new owners planned to lay off half the staff.[NBC]
When will these companies learn that American consumers do not want a hefty dose of “social justice” with their products and services? We also don’t want feminists and progressive kooks shoving their agenda down our throats. We’re all adults and we will think, believe, and behave how we see fit. We don’t need unhinged liberals guiding us along the way.
Until they learn this lesson they will continue to lose money and collapse, and they’ll deserve it.
