How far has society been flushed in the toilet when a drunk woman decides to smile for the camera while being booked for causing car crash?
Angenette Marie Welk is in some serious trouble after she rear-ended another vehicle killing a 60-year-old car passenger and injuring the 18-year-old driver.
NEW: FHP says they are working with the state attorney to upgrade charges against Angenette Welk, 44 , seen smiling in her mugshot after FHP says she rammed into a back of a car of an 18 year old daughter and mom. Total acts of disregard for human life like this should feel the full punishment the legal system allows. Welk should not be allowed to walk free outside of a prison ever again. The more I look at her smiling photo, the more I get disgusted. She must not understand the gravity of her situation. Is she trying to play the insane card here? Mental illness? What the end game?
CBS affiliate WKMG reports that Angenette Marie Welk may face a DUI manslaughter charge after the accident in Marion County last week.
Troopers say Welk was driving her 2011 Chevrolet Avalon when she rear-ended a Hyundai Elantra, sandwiching that car between Welk’s sedan and a tractor-trailer, according to the crash report.
WKMG reports that the driver of the Elantra, 18-year-old Shiyanne Kroll, suffered minor injuries, but her mother, 60-year-old Sandra Clarkson, who was the passenger, suffered critical injuries and died days later.
The truck driver was not injured.
Records show that Welk’s blood alcohol content was .172 – more than twice the legal limit, WKMG reported.
There need to be maximum security prisons for so-called women like Welk, not some daycare where they sit and play house. That Cheshire cat grin of hers practically guarantees that upgrade to DUI manslaughter charge. She won’t be smiling then.
STORY UPDATE: She was booked into the Marion County Jail where she made bail and was eventually released.
I won’t lead you down the wrong path here. The booking photo was taken before the elderly lady passed away but that doesn’t mean this is still not disgusting. She’s smiling after she caused a car crash.
Do you think she should be jailed until her trial date? If you were the judge, how would you rule? Sound off in the comment section and share on Twitter/Facebook.
