Both Sheriff David Clarke and Eboni Williams are regulars on Fox News, and both are strong leaders in the community, so this tense segment was weird to watch.
It was weird to watch, but I understand both points. I am not going to say I am against either but both are correct in their analysis.
From my own experience about Rep. John Lewis, he seems to have forgotten the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Lewis decided to skip the opening of the new Mississippi Civil Rights Museum today where President Donald Trump was invited to participate. Lewis should be attacked for his pettiness and hatred of the current president over a narrative the Congressional Black Caucus has created to not work with Trump.
If Lewis were intent on following Dr. King’s approach to civil rights and peace, he would follow one of the civil rights famous quotes:
I have a dream that one day on the red hills of Georgia, the sons of former slaves and the sons of former slave owners will be able to sit together at the table of brotherhood.
Clarke in the video stated that kids today know nothing of the civil rights era or Lewis and what he did back then, but they are witnessing his quest for division and separatism. Williams was correct in remembering what Lewis “was” about but she also didn’t speak to what he’s doing now.

As I stated, both are correct in their summation, but if we are talking about civil rights today or even the talk of peace between Americans, that is where Lewis falls. He is not interested in bringing parties together as Trump has shown many attempts which have been met with attitudes and false narratives.
At least Trump has attempted many times to reach out to the minority community, which is something Barack Obama did not do. I am not biased on my summation; I am 100 percent speaking on this issue down the middle. I know both of these individuals so please do not pick sides but understand where they are coming from.
