The U.S. women’s soccer team co-captain Megan Rapinoe made clear on CNN tonight, they have zero interest in going to the White House because they didn’t want their platform to be corrupted by the Trump administration.
Honestly, I don’t know what that means but this woman has serious issues.
If you know nothing about Rapinoe, during the women’s world cup, she made headlines claiming she’s “not going to the f***ing White House.” She later apologized for the profanity but not the sentiment.
Rapinoe explained to CNN’s Anderson Cooper that every teammate she spoke told her they wouldn’t to go to the White House either.
Rapinoe: “I don’t think anyone on the team has any interest in lending the platform that we’ve worked hard to build and the things that we fight for and the way that we live our life. I don’t think we want that to be co-opted or corrupted by this administration.”
Cooper, a CNN stooge, or course pressed her to make more outlandish statements toward the president such as: “Your message is excluding people. You’re excluding me. You’re excluding people that look like me. You’re excluding people of color.”
Rapinoe mentioned the Make America Great Again slogan and repeated talking points most of us have heard via CNN, MSNBC or even the Democratic Party, on how — “that was not great for everyone.”
Cooper mentioned that Rapinoe had received invites from Democrats Rep. Nancy Pelosi, and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez to visit the House of Representatives and if they would take them up.
Rapinoe: “Yes to AOC, yes to Nancy Pelosi, yes to the bipartisan Congress, yes to Chuck Schumer, yes to anyone else that wants to invite us and have a substantive conversation and believe in the same things we believe in.”
I don’t think anyone really cares about Rapinoe except the Democratic Party and they will use this short period in time to trot these women out like props as they’ve done minorities for years but after the shine was worn dull, Rapinoe will be just some woman in suburban America living the “I used to be” life.
