Puerto Rico Delegate: Everything Trump Said He Would Send Is Getting To The Island

The media and Congressional Democrats have tried to stick a false narrative out there that President Trump didn’t care about Puerto Rico and help wasn’t coming fast enough.

They’ve  backed off reporting that 24/7 as it is hard to hide all of those palettes of water and food when conducting an interview as the Mayor of San Juan found out.

Jenniffer Gonzalez-Colon, Puerto Rico’s delegate to the United States Congress, tried to clear up all misinformation that has been flowing through the airwaves of how Trump was failing the island after Hurricane Maria. She praised Trump’s knowledge of the situation as well as following through on his word of sending supplies.

To he fair, Gonzalez-Colon didn’t approve of the ways Trump managed the issue with his off-the-cuff remarks and probably the back and forth between he and the San Juan Mayor but she did give him credit for sticking to his word.

“I will tell you that everything that the president said that he was going to send to the island, it’s getting there. The resources are there. The help is there,” Colon told the outlet. He instructed all his cabinet members to treat Puerto Rico as a state, in terms of this hurricane. I mean, that kind of instruction is important to have access to all those programs.”

Gonzalez-Colon also said she was impressed with Trump’s knowledge of the situation on the ground in Puerto Rico, and mentioned that the President spoke to Puerto Rico’s governor at least once every day, during and after the hurricane.

She said that while she might not “praise all the ways that he managed the issue” — she definitely criticized the President for his off-the-cuff remarks and his unwillingness to “follow the script” that kept him on subject during the first few days of emergency response — everything Trump promised to send has arrived, and help is now getting to the far corners of the island.

I can respect her analysis and I won’t hold it against her how she might not have enjoyed Trump responding to the San Juan Mayor. It’s not for everyone. I am of the tribe if you continue to badger me or attack me thinking you are winning by belittling me, I will crush you sooner or later and then that will be that.
