Professor Allegedly Shoots Himself — To Protest President Trump!

Now, this has to be the stupidest thing I’ve heard in a long time!

His name is Mark Bird, and he shot himself to protest President Trump. What else can I say on the subject? Is this really what Trump Derangement Syndrome does to people? And then on top of that, you mean to tell me a liberal professor was illegally carrying a concealed weapon? No way! That gun must have put itself in his pocket and fired on him while he was using the men’s room.

Makes one wonder exactly where he bought it, how long he’s owned it, what his stance on gun ownership has been, etc.

I can’t believe someone would take a firearm and shoot himself in the arm to protest an elected official. That’s way past the extreme. Maybe he should be placed in an institution, and that institution should be locked up inside another institution if people are going to start acting like this.

Mark J. Bird, 69, was charged last month with discharging a gun within a prohibited structure, carrying a concealed weapon without a permit and possessing a dangerous weapon on school property, court records show. He was found bleeding from a self-inflicted gunshot wound to his arm about 8:15 a.m. on Aug. 28 outside a bathroom in the Charleston campus K building.

Inside the bathroom, campus police found a $100 bill taped to a mirror along with a note that said, “For the janitor,” according to Bird’s arrest report. On the floor of the restroom was a black-and-white, .22-caliber pistol and one spent shell casing.

A 911 call was made after several CSN employees and at least one student saw Bird stumble out of the bathroom, bleeding, before he collapsed, the report said. None of the witnesses — who later told police they only recalled hearing “a loud noise” — initially knew Bird was armed and had shot himself, according to the report.

One college employee told police that he held Bird’s hand to calm him down as others tried to stop the bleeding. While waiting for authorities to arrive, Bird said he had shot himself in protest of President Donald Trump, police noted in their report. The report did not elaborate.

I guess it’s just another version of: “If you don’t give me candy, I’m going to hold my breath, until I turn blue.”

Bird really messed up. He should have wounded himself in the head or chest and claimed insanity. He would have been found not guilty because of stupidity, The teachers union could have gotten his job back, and all would have been well.

Man, you’ve got to have some hermetically sealed self-regard to think shooting yourself in the arm is a great tragedy that will move people and nations. You think Democrats are unhinged now? Wait until Trump gets to replace Justice Ruth Baber Ginsberg on the SCOTUS in his second term!
