Perhaps if priests and pastors had been doing their job and teaching the true meaning of Christ’s life, we wouldn’t be writing articles calling out this stupidity.
If past leaders of the United States thought like this priest, we would have never been liberated from the King of England. Sorry, Mr. Priest, I will not stop saying Christmas – but I will make sure it is celebrated for the correct reason – proclaiming the Holy Name of Jesus Christ.
Here’s an excellent tip for you also, you don’t abandon it! You bring back what Christmas is. Take the money out of it.

Father Desmond O’Donnell said Christians of all denominations should realize that Christmas and Easter no longer have any sacred meaning.
He told the Belfast Telegraph: “We’ve lost Christmas, just like we lost Easter, and should abandon the word completely. We need to let it go, it’s already been hijacked and we just need to recognize and accept that.
“I am simply asking that space be preserved for believers for whom Christmas has nothing to do with Santa and reindeer.
“My religious experience of true Christmas, like so many others, is very deep and real – like the air I breathe. But non-believers deserve and need their celebration too, it’s an essential human dynamic and we all need that in the toughness of life.
“I’m just trying to rescue the reality of Christmas for believers by giving up ‘Christmas’ and replacing it with another word.
“I’m all for Christians choosing to celebrate Christmas by going out for meals and enjoying a glass of wine, but the commercialisation of anything is never good.”
Although I agree that Christmas and Easter have been co-opted, I don’t think we should abandon the words. We’ve lost a lot of good things to today’s irreverent, greedy, and downright evil lefties and money-grubbers – think of the words that are no longer safe to use, think of the rainbow.
We can’t keep retreating and giving up, just letting them take over and remake society in their sick image. Hang on to Christmas and Easter, and *proclaim* the profound meaning of those two words! Don’t let the world forget what they mean!
