Pres. Trump is back on the warpath against Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions.
I’m not sure what is holding Sessions in office right now. Pres. Trump continues to embarrass him in public for not doing his job, and he continues to remain silent to a point, and stay in the job.
During an interview with the Hill, Pres. Trump told the interviewer that he did not have an AG. Maybe the reason why Sessions continues to remain in office is that it is a job he’s always wanted, even though he’s not acting like it.
Sessions recused himself from the Russian investigation after pressure from Democrats and a few Republicans who were not pleased that he forgot to include he had two meetings with Russian counterparts during his confirmation hearings.
The AG continued to use this excuse “But because a Department of Justice regulation, 28 CFR 45.2, required it,” to justify his decision but Pres. Trump concluded he didn’t have to recuse himself and everything you see happening now is poisonous fruit from that decision.

“I don’t have an Attorney General. It’s very sad,” Trump told Hill.TV in an extensive and free-wheeling interview Tuesday from the Oval Office.
The prddesident has long excoriated Sessions for his March2017 decision to recuse himself from the Russia collusion investigation. But on Tuesday he suggested he is frustrated by Sessions’ performance on far more than that.
“I’m not happy at the border, I’m not happy with numerous things, not just this,” he said.
Trump suggested he had a personal blind spot when it came to nominating Sessions as the nation’s top law enforcement officer.
“I’m so sad over Jeff Sessions because he came to me. He was the first Senator that endorsed me. And he wanted to be Attorney General, and I didn’t see it,” he said.
Either way, Sessions is going to have to decide whether or not he wants to continue working in a Trump administration because being eviscerated every week is not good.
