In the article, Obamacare, 100% failure by design we reference the President in his own words from 2009 forward saying:
If you like your healthcare plan, you can keep it. PERIOD
If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor. PERIOD
The ACA will save a family $2,500 a year on their healthcare premium.
At no time during any of President Obama’s myriad of appearances while in office and on the campaign trail do I recall him saying anything about grandfathered plans.
He is not on record as saying if you like your healthcare plan in effect prior to 2010, and you make no changes to it, from 2010 through 2013, no change in deductible, no change in premium, then yes, that plan you can keep, PERIOD.
Agreed, the sentence is a long one so I can see why Obama shortened it! But let’s be honest, by doing so, he lied to the American people for years.
When asked how the administration could continue to claim Obamacare did not cause the cancellations many Americans began receiving from their carriers, Carney responded by not answering the question. Instead, Carney changed the premise of the question to this, ‘if you are asking if the ACA demands there be a basic level of coverage offered by health insurance companies to their customers, then the answer is yes. Carney went on to say the president, however, had been very clear about what would happen to your plan once the Affordable Care Act rolled out.
Clearly Carney wished to make one point abundantly clear to the mainstream media, ONLY five percent of Americans are affected by these cancellations, or put another way, the $14M people who believed the president when he said they could keep their healthcare plan, PERIOD.
No matter, five per centers, Obama says not to worry about these cancellations, soon you will be able to shop online for a new health plan. Snort. These new plans are GREAT, complete with the Obama gold stamp of approval! No longer will you be burdened with the choice of selecting a high deductible plan to keep your monthly premium expenses low, instead you get great new coverage like guaranteed maternity care for men and women past the age of conceiving and free birth control! After all, a one size fits all is the best approach, right?
During today’s presser, the media went out of their way not to refer to Obama as a liar, but what else do you call it? A mistake? Another scandal the president is MIA or completely out of the loop on?
A mistake is wrongly stating something, while a lie is an intentionally false statement. The difference, is the intent.
Did Obama intend to misspeak when he told the American people ad nauseam, ‘if you like your plan, you can keep it. Period. One may argue the details didn’t provide for much of a sound bite, but at what point do you call it what it is, a LIE.
A LIE like the Benghazi terrorist attack was a result of a “spontaneous” protest in response to a “disgusting” anti-Muslim video found only on YouTube that never occurred.
A LIE like I never said there was a red line.
A LIE like, I never said I would not negotiate with Congress.
A LIE like Obama had no idea about Fast and Furious, the targeting of the Tea Party by the IRS and the bugging of Merkel’s phone by the NSA.
At what point do the American people say enough? I will no longer stand for the lies.
At what point will the press have had enough? When the privacy of a non-Fox News reporter’s privacy is invaded?
There are very few representatives in DC with integrity, who will take a stand no matter what amount of vitriol being spewed their way and no matter from which side of the aisle it is being spewed.
Just two short weeks ago, Democrat leaders referred to Senators Cruz, Lee and Paul as racists and terrorists for trying to slow the train wreck currently crashing into the American people. Yet now members of the Democrat party who are up for re-election in 2014 are insisting the individual mandate be delayed.
These Democrat politicians are not doing because of their integrity, for if they had any they would have insisted more time be available to read the 2,000+ page Obamacare bill rushed through on Christmas Eve and passed without one Republican vote.
No, those up in 2014 insist the mandate be delayed now because they believe by doing so, you will be fooled into believing they have your best interest at heart. They believe if they perform for you in the political theater and insist the train wreck be delayed that you will do what you always do and re-elect them at a 90% rate even though it was their vote for Obamacare that placed you in the position of losing your health plan. Period.
We do not need leaders who do what is best for themselves 99% of the time and what is best for the people who elect them only at election time. We need leaders with integrity, leaders we can trust to do the right thing even when no one is watching.
These leaders are scarce in congress today, but the blame for having so few does not lie with those who represent us, because they are but a reflection of the people who vote them into office.
Personally, I have had enough, have you?
