President Donald Trump, along with his children and organization has filed a lawsuit against Deutsche Bank and Capital One who felt they were compelled to release personal financial records to the Democratic-led House committees per United Press International.
“We filed this case to protect the privacy rights of the President, his family and their businesses. The subpoenas issued to Deutsche Bank and Capital One by Chairpersons Schiff and Waters are unlawful and illegitimate. They seek information going back decades from anyone with even a tangential connection to the President, including children, minors and spouses. Every citizen should be concerned about this sweeping, lawless, invasion of privacy. We look forward to vindicating our clients’ rights in this matter,” according to a statement from Will Consavoy and Patrick Strawbridge, counsel for the president and individual plaintiffs, and Marc L. Mukasey, counsel for the Trump business entities.
A congressional subpoena is not a court order; therefore, Deutsche bank need not comply. Moreover, I think they realize that compromising their client’s privacy will adversely affect their bottom line. I suspect any bank that gives voluntarily gives the Democrats Trump’s financial information is going to face a considerable backlash.
They have no probable cause to obtain what they want. But then again, Democrats call the Constitution, an outdated rag that needs rewriting.
I’ve talked to a few individuals about this, and they feel the House of Representatives is in clear violation of the 4th Amendment.
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no Warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
Someone in Government trying to access papers solely to find politically damaging material on a political opponent strikes me as the very definition of “unreasonable” and any financial organization voluntarily giving financial information to politicians for that purpose deserves to go out of business.
Timing is everything. Like many, I would like to see this material out there now, but unlike many, I’m not going to stamp my feet and do the “oh if he doesn’t ______ I won’t vote for him, I’m done…”
This man is the best thing to have happened to this nation of ours in decades. He has been fighting a battle that any one of us would have lost and been buried by long ago. We lost the House not because of Trump but because of losers like Paul Ryan, numerous other RINO’s, and Democrat voter fraud. One man can only do so much especially when almost all politicians and various entrenched government agency members obstructing him. Considering what he has done so far, I’d say he’s doing a damn excellent job certainly better than anything we got in the last eight years of O’Kenyan.
The fact that the Dems are this rabid and this public with their tantrums now is a perfect indicator that they know they are well and truly screwed. They are trying to pad the spot where they believe the other shoe will drop. My suspicion is it is a little too late for that.
What do you think about this tactic by Democrats? Do you think they will get the financial records or will the lawsuit protect Trump and his family?
