Pelosi: Clinton Will Be ‘One Of The Most Qualified People To Go Into The White House’

WASHINGTON (CBSDC/AP) — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi believes 2016 will “absolutely” be the year for the first female president.

Speaking at the Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University Tuesday, Pelosi said that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will be one of the most qualified people to ever get elected president.

“Hillary Clinton will go into the White House as one of the most qualified people to go into the White House,” Pelosi said.

The California Democrat touted Clinton’s tenure as first lady, senator and President Barack Obama’s secretary of state as credentials for making a good commander in chief.

“She knows the legislative branch. She knows the executive branch. She knows the world,” Pelosi said. “It’s a pretty excitingthing.”
