Just a few days ago, I told you all about the Netflix show called “The Highwaymen.” Robert Redford and Paul Newman were supposed to occupy the parts played by Kevin Costner and Woody Harrelson, but the movie project never happened.
Costner and Harrelson played the heck out of their roles as two former Texas Rangers given the “green light” to hunt down and kill Bonnie and Clyde. It was a masterpiece movie, and one everyone should see at some point. Here is the trailer:
This series called Yellowstone cements the fact that Costner should never play anything other than a cowboy. He is awesome and makes you believe what you see on the screen is happening around you.
“All the angels are gone son, there’s only devils left.”
Costner plays John Dutton in the series and the strong leader of a western family who follows his spirit but has different ideas about how to solve solutions which brings discord inside the family and the other town folk. This has everything from family conflict to conflicts along shared borders of a large cattle ranch, turmoil over an Indian reservation, land developers and the grand Yellowstone National Park.
If you haven’t watched the first season, make sure you binge-watch it before starting season two which is starting real soon.
Yellowstone was created by Taylor Sheridan (Wind River, Hell or High Water) and John Linson. In its debut season, it averaged 5.1 million viewers, making it 2018’s most-watched new cable series. Costner is the featured star and rightfully so, but the series doesn’t lack a list of non-stars with the likes of Luke Grimes, Kelly Reilly, Wes Bentley, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Brecken Merrill, Jefferson White, and Gil Birmingham.
