Open Letter to Speaker Boehner – It is Past Time for a Benghazi Select Committee

Dear Speaker Boehner,

595 days have passed since Ambassador Chris Stevens, Sean Smith, Tyrone Woods and Glen Doherty were murdered in a terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.

594 days have passed since President Obama, Secretary of State Clinton, Jay Carney, Susan Rice and other high level administration officials began a coordinated effort to lie to the American people about the cause of the attack.

572 days have passed since the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform launched its Benghazi  investigation.

558 days have passed since Judicial Watch made its original request for access to documents relating to the formation of  talking points then U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice used during her September 16th Sunday talk show appearances where she reiterated ad nauseam:

What sparked the violence was a very hateful video on the Internet, it was a reaction to a video that had nothing to do with the United States

466 days have passed since Rep. Frank Wolf (VA) introduced House Resolution 36 establishing a Benghazi Select Committee, much like the one used to investigate Watergate.

312 days have passed since Judicial Watch filed suit against he U. S. Department of State for continuing to stonewall the group’s FOIA request.

The documents released today include a September 14, 2012 email with the subject line:  “RE: PREP CALL with Susan, Saturday at 4:00 pm ET” confirming what the Obama administration hoped to gain by prepping Amb. Rice with her YouTube talking points.

Goal:  To underscore that these protests are rooted in and Internet video, and not a broader failure or policy

With only 53 days left to pass until the 2012 presidential election, Obama’s DNC acceptance speech, and subsequent stump speeches repeating the phrase,

Osama bin Laden is dead, and Al Qaeda is on the run

A terrorist attack on the eleventh anniversary of 9/11, would be in a word, disastrous.

273 days have passed since White House Press Secretary, Jay Carney confirmed President Obama did indeed consider investigations into the video narrative and talking point changes a phony scandal and Congress refuses to act.

The Obama administration and Attorney General Holder continue to thumb its nose at Congress, ignoring subpoena’s and continuing to distract, delay and redact the truth from the plethora of committees investigating Benghazi scandal.

190 of your colleagues support House Resolution 36, establishing a Benghazi Select Committee and one person stands in the way, that person is you Speaker Boehner.

Given the new revelations discovered by Judicial Watch’s FOIA request and lawsuit, clearly illustrating  the administrations involvement in crafting a false narrative to secure Obama’s reelection, I respectfully request you bring HRes 36 to floor for a vote, and get out of the way of providing justice for the families of the four men who served their country and were left to die by the Commander in Chief.

Finally, to the people of District 8 in Ohio:

5 days will pass until you decide who will represent you as a Republican in your district’s primary race, placing you in a position to do something Speaker Boehner refuses to do, finding the truth for families of the men who died in Benghazi, Libya.
