Omar On Israeli Elections And Netanyahu’s Fate — I Hope The Make A Different Decision

Here we go again. Didn’t we go through this when Barack Obama tried to infiltrate Israel’s elections when he was in office?

On Tuesday, Israel goes to the polls, but American lawmaker thought, Rep. Ilhan Omar felt she needed to have her comment on the record for the Israeli people.  Omar said she hoped Israel would break from current Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s agenda while defending her support for the Boycott, Divestment, Sanction (BDS) movement.

What has a US person got to do with Israel politics? Most importantly, is she representing her constituency? No, nor is she elected in that capacity to represent foreign policy. This proves she is just there to serve her Muslim brotherhood.

Speaking with Margaret Brennan on CBS’ “Face the Nation,“ Omar responded to a move last month by the Israeli government to bar Omar from visiting the country over her support for the BDS movement. The Minnesota Democrat and fellow progressive congresswoman Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) were not permitted to enter Israel after President Donald Trump lobbied Israeli leaders to keep them out — setting off a backlash from both sides of the aisle to a perceived act of disrespect against the U.S. Congress.

“What is really important is for people to understand that you have to give people the opportunity to seek the kind of justice they want in a peaceful way,” Omar said. “I think the opportunity to boycott, divest, sanction is the kind of the pressure that leads to that peaceful process.”

Omar also said she hoped Israeli voters would see Netanyahu’s “existence, his policies, his rhetoric” as “contradictory” to the peace process in the region. She cited a recent campaign promise by Netanyahu to annex large swaths of the West Bank that have been under Israeli control since 1967. The area would include the Jordan River Valley — the bread basket of a proposed Palestinian state and a vital element to proposed two-state solutions.

“For many of us in Congress, there has been a longstanding support for a two-state solution, and this annexation now is going to make sure that that peace process does not happen,” Omar said. [Politico]

And here’s a message to Omar; instead of pushing an absurd BDS movement of Israel, that has almost no support, urge your brothers and sisters Palestinians who are Israeli citizens not to boycott elections, like they did last time, but to go out and vote, so they can win some more seats in the Knesset, so they can assist in forming a government that wants peace through a two-state solution.

I hope there will be some strong Republican candidates to challenge and defeat Omar and Rep. Rashida Tlaib in their primaries. From my perspective, they are part of the lunatic fringe of the left and are trying to move the country in the wrong direction.

Amazing that the district that elected her weren’t smart enough to realize that she was not going to work for them and spends all her time worrying about what is going on in Israel and not at home. Maybe they will remember in the next election.
