House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes is fed up with the Department of Justice slowing down progress on his oversight as you will see.
The DOJ has been “stonewalling” the submission of the documents for some time now. It’s amazing how someone like Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein, who is quite a stickler for the rules, will suddenly “break the rules” to hide information from a Congressional Committee which has a legal right to the information. Somethings are really starting to stink in the DOJ.
Who feels Speaker Paul Ryan and Senate Leader Mitch McConnell need to get in front of the cameras and demand the document from the DOJ and state their unequivocal support for Nunes?

In a letter sent Friday to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, Nunes said the records should be provided to all committee members “and designated staff” rather than just the so-called “Gang of Eight” — which refers to Republican and Democratic leaders in both houses of Congress as well as top lawmakers from the intelligence panels.
“DOJ continues to obfuscate and delay its production using an array of tactics, such as incorrectly categorizing the requested documents as Gang-of-Eight-level material in order to limit access,” wrote Nunes, referring to an April 30 subpoena for the documents. “Such conduct by DOJ is unacceptable because the Gang-of-Eight is a legal fiction that has no basis outside of the confines of Presidential approval and reporting of covert actions.”
Nunes also wrote, “Your continued refusal to permit Members of Congress and designated staff to review the requested documents is obstruction of a lawful Congressional investigation.”
The DOJ did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment.
Why doesn’t the Justice Department turn over documents Congress is demanding? Congress is supposed to have oversight of the Justice Department and the FBI. If they have done nothing wrong, why not hand over the documents?
The biggest problem with the DOJ is they aren’t elected officials. And, we’ve already seen what happens when the president fires one of them. The unfettered power of the DOJ has to cease, and Congress needs to hold them accountable, enough is enough.
And the DC swamp wonders why the rest of the country has no faith in govt institutions. What happened to equal justice?
