NFL Turns Down Veteran’s Group Super Bowl Ad For Official Program Over — #Please Stand!

Well, I am out. I thought this was going to be one of those games I would watch, but this latest news is one I can walk away from especially since I am veteran.

The NFL is a hypocritical organization. They had allowed political statements all year long when they gave their players the approval of breaking one of their rules which calls for them to stand for the National Anthem. Now, a veteran group is turned away from agreeing with the NFL rule in a way.

This is ludicrous and unbelievable. I can stand somethings, but I won’t stand for this. They can kiss my a**.

The league invited American Veterans (AMVETS) to place a one-page ad for the Super Bowl LII program, and the completed submission included an American flag alongside the words, “#PleaseStand.” The ad will not run, which now has AMVETS crying censorship.

“Freedom of speech works both ways,” AMVETS national commander Marion Polk wrote in a letter to commissioner Roger Goodell on Monday. “We respect the rights of those who choose to protest as these rights are precisely what our members have fought — and in many cases died — for. But imposing corporate censorship to deny that same right to those veterans who have secured it for us all is reprehensible and totally beyond the pale.”

The NFL, which has been unwittingly at the forefront of the protest movement initiated by Colin Kaepernick, maintained that it was trying to keep its Super Bowl program free from political statements. In doing so, of course, critics see a political statement.

The Super Bowl game program is designed for fans to commemorate and celebrate the game, players, teams and the Super Bowl,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told USA Today. “It’s never been a place for advertising that could be considered by some as a political statement. The NFL has long supported the military and veterans and will again salute our service members in the Super Bowl with memorable on-field moments that will be televised as part of the game.”

I can’t believe the owners recently renewed the commissioner’s contract for five years at many millions of dollars. I am scratching my head, are you? Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones was right to try to hold out against giving Roger Goodell the raise.

The NFL says they don’t allow “political statements.” That’s BS! What about last year’s advertisement from that lumber company against building the wall? Screw the NFL; they’re done.

Americans need an alternative to the mainstream media. That’s why we exist. Donate $10 today and help us continue to fight!

As a veteran, I’ve been pissed ever since this crap started. This is now, another slap in the face. These entitled babies should be required to spend at least four years ducking bullets or carrying out and treating the ones that weren’t able to duck them all. Then they might have an idea why we’re pissed.
