NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell just responded to Donald Trump who called for NFL fans to leave stadiums if players disrespect the National Anthem and or American Flag.
Many Americans side with President Trump against sports players who are showing lack of respect for our National Anthem and American flag. President Trump suggested that those who disrespected the National Anthem should be fired.
Here’s a message to all NFL players and owners — the resignation of your commissioner, Roger Goodell, is a moral imperative. By allowing him to use your league as some social tool, it is placing your business in serious financial jeopardy. If the players on your teams want to make a political statement, that’s fine, but not on the playing field during game time.

NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said Saturday that President Trump’s recent comments about players kneeling during the national anthem are “divisive” and show a “lack of respect” for the pro football league and its players.
“The NFL and our players are at our best when we help create a sense of unity in our country and our culture,” he said in a statement. “Divisive comments like these demonstrate an unfortunate lack of respect for the NFL, our great game and all of our players, and a failure to understand the overwhelming force for good our clubs and players represent in our communities.”
Goodell’s statement follows Trump’s comments during a rally Friday night in Alabama in which he slammed NFL players for knealing during the national anthem.
I remember writing an opinion on Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones:
Let’s be honest here. Trump’s comment was quite clear, and it only showed a lack of respect for the players who decline to show respect to the flag, not the NFL.
Trump has given voice to the frustration of the vast majority of NFL consumers.Goodell, and the owners, either don’t understand or don’t care about, their customers.
By allowing football to become political in the first place, Goodell has put unpatriotic snowflakes above patriots. This is our country. You don’t have to like it, and neither do the football players, but then you and they should have no business being here in the U.S. and playing football either.
