A Senate bill to raise the minimum wage stalled yesterday after it failed to get the 60 votes needed to advance. This put the not-so-bright MSNBC Host Ed Schultz into a bit of a tizzy. He told viewers that not supporting a minimum wage hike is “every bit as racist as comments made by Cliven Bundy and Donald Sterling.”
He went on,
I think not raising the minimum wage is a racist policy. Standing up, making the case that people of color in this country do not deserve a living wage is a racist policy. There’s a lot of different ways to prove racism in America. Not providing a livable wage for Americans hurts African-Americans.
He didn’t stop there. Schultz specifically targeted Republicans as being racist for supporting things like a reduction in food stamps and cuts to Medicaid and Medicare. And of course he cited their attempts to repeal the Affordable Care Act as racist because OBVIOUSLY the only reason Republicans want to see it repealed is because they just hate president Obama.
Republican policies, look at what they do, they hurt all people of color with their policies. Not raising the minimum wage is just the latest in a long line of Republican policies that hurt minorities across the board in this country.
Yes people. The left is THAT dense and THAT out of touch with reality.
It’s sad that some people actually take this guy seriously. I wonder if Schultz ‘s viewers even understand the real reasons why Republicans generally don’t support a hike in the minimum wage? You know, like, for economic reasons? Probably not.
It’s clear that Schultz isn’t interested in an honest discussion on the minimum wage or why Republican’s dont support increasing it. If he were, he might consider speaking with Dr. Thomas Sowell, who is quite articulate on the subject. In one of his recent columns about the minimum wage, Dr. Sowell writes,
A survey of American economists found that 90 percent of them regarded minimum wage laws as increasing the rate of unemployment among low-skilled workers. Inexperience is often the problem. Only about two percent of Americans over the age of 24 earned the minimum wage.
I doubt Shutlz has ever read anything Dr. Sowell has written or that he would be the least bit interested in learning the real reasons why Republicans generally don’t support this type of legislation.

Gotta love the left. When they don’t have the winning argument, they surely have the race card.
