MSNBC Tom Brokaw has been accused of sexual harassment by Linda Vester, a former war correspondent for NBC News.
It sounds like another high and mighty icon is to bite the dust. Mumbles Brokaw, of all people! The rock of the network.
Another female also claimed legendary anchor Brokaw propositioned them when they worked at NBC. I’m shocked. Maybe heroes aren’t nouns, but they should be verbs.
According to a report published by Variety on Thursday, Tom Brokaw has been accused of sexually harassing war correspondent Linda Vester.
Variety spoke with Vester in a series of interviews spanning months. During that time, she revealed, “Brokaw physically tried to force her to kiss him on two separate occasions, groped her in a NBC conference room and showed up at her hotel room uninvited.”
Two friends have also corroborated her story.
The Washington Post also published a separate allegation against Brokaw from an anonymous woman.
Brokaw has admitted he spoke with Vester about her career by adamantly denied the allegations.
“I met with Linda Vester on two occasions, both at her request, 23 years ago because she wanted advice with respect to her career at NBC,” he said via a statement. “The meetings were brief, cordial and appropriate, and despite Linda’s allegations, I made no romantic overtures towards her at that time or any other.”

In the criminal justice system, sexually based offenses are considered especially heinous. In New York City, the dedicated detectives who investigate these vicious felonies are members of an elite squad known as the Special Victims Unit. These are their stories.
Brokaw, well, that’s disappointing.
How many people realize how much harm this behavior does to women’s careers?
