McGowan Calls Out Black Dress Wearing Meryl Streep Who Worked For “Pig Monster”

Rose McGowan is absolutely correct, as she often is. Wearing a 20 thousand dollar black couture gown is not a revolutionary act, they are nothing but hypocrites.

I didn’t watch the Golden Globes, however, if McGowan or Corey Feldman had spoken, that would’ve been truly a defining moment. Those two were mocked and shunned out of Hollywood for actually telling the truth before #metoo movement.

I originally had a problem with the fake “wearing black clothes” protest weeks ago when I found out they were doing this at the Golden Globes. To be fair, wearing black was the weakest possible form of protest. I’d imagine a good portion of attendees were already planning on doing so. Not turning up would have sent a clearer message.

With movie stars it’s hard to tell the difference between a true concern or a publicity stunt for more attention? So they silently protested Weinstein but can’t shut their ill-informed flapping lips when it comes to our President. That figures.

Rose McGowan, who has accused disgraced Hollywood mogul Harvey Weinstein of rape, was not impressed with the all-black ensembles worn for the red carpet.

“And not one of those fancy people wearing black to honor our rapes would have lifted a finger had it not been so,” tweeted the 44-year-old at fellow activist Asia Argento. “I have no time for Hollywood fakery, but you I love, [email protected] #roseArmy.”

This hasn’t been the first time McGowan has been critical of Hollywood.

“Actresses, like Meryl Streep, who happily worked for The Pig Monster, are wearing black @GoldenGlobes in a silent protest,” McGowan tweeted back in December. “YOUR SILENCE is THE problem. You’ll accept a fake award breathlessly & affect no real change. I despise your hypocrisy. Maybe you should all wear Marchesa,” the fashion line of Weinstein’s ex-wife Georgina Chapman.

It would have been so much more effective if the event was boycotted by every woman who was nominated for an award. Are their little trophies so important in light of the larger issue they were protesting? In a business that markets and objectifies women to make money, their absence would have said so much more than making a collective fashion statement.

Americans need an alternative to the mainstream media. That’s why we exist. Donate $10 today and help us continue to fight!

Let’s get rid of all the awards, the award shows, and the Hollywood elite. Pay all actors $50 an hour, reduce theater tickets to $2 and theater treats to 50 cents, and everyone will be happy!
