Macron Cracks — Pulls Fuel Tax Off Table After Weeks Of City Burning

The people of Paris have won a huge battle.

Paris hasn’t seen protests like this in 50 years and President Emmanuel Macron has decided to change his mind about increasing the fuel tax to squash more damage to the city.

The sane (albeit demonstrative) people of France just won a huge victory. Fuel taxes punish the working class because they are the ones who struggle to get by on a typical household budget. The wealthy socialist masters are literally unaffected by a marginal increase in energy costs. To a millionaire a couple of francs is nothing. To a working slob, it adds up.

If you were not keeping count, four people were killed during the rioting while hundreds have been arrested.

French President Emmanuel Macron decided to scrap the planned carbon tax on fuels after weeks of protests rocked Paris and other major cities across the country.

An Élysée Palace official told The Associated Press Wednesday that “the president decided to get rid of the tax.”

Macron’s decision comes one day after the government announced plans to delay implementing the carbon taxes for six months. The fuel taxes were meant to go into effect in January as part of France’s plan to fight global warming.

Prime Minister Edouard Philippe told French lawmakers the carbon tax “is now abandoned.”  Phillippe said the government is “ready for dialogue” on what the next steps will be.

People of France: Never ever trust a globalist. You want a leader who loves his country and loves his people the most. This is a valuable lesson. Never again elect somebody who will always put you and your nation second.

Vive la France!
