GOP Politician Says Graham Must Resign After His Latest ‘Impeachment Investigation’ Excuse Backfires in His Face

Many people are asking “where’s Lindsey?” The man who is in the chair of one of the most influential committees in Congress is a no-show when it comes to helping President Trump. Sure, he makes the rounds on the Sunday political talk shows saying how unfair and absurd the House impeachment sham is. And of course, there was that “resolution” letter that rebuked the House efforts to impeach President Trump.

But that’s all talk no action.

If Graham really wanted to help President Trump and counter the impeachment coup, he’d be holding hearings of his own. If Graham truly wanted to fight the Dems, he’d have placed Hunter and Joe Biden under oath 17 times by now.

But he has done nothing.

Last week we learned that Chuck Grassley will be taking back his chairmanship of the House Judiciary Committee, but that won’t happen until after 2020.

Meanwhile, we’re stuck with do-nothing Lindsey, who just keeps digging his hole deeper and deeper.

Now, calls for him to resign are growing louder, as his latest excuse regarding a Senate  “impeachment investigation” have absolutely infuriated Trump’s base.

Fox News’ Chad Pergram tweeted out a comment quote from Graham stating, “I have no desire to call Hunter Biden or Joe Biden to the judiciary committee because I don’t have jurisdiction.”

“Great! I see. Trump is again fighting by himself. What else is new!”

“He doesn’t have jurisdiction? Are you kidding me? Is he trying to appease Morning Joe who hates him and excoriates him anyway? I just don’t get it, give clear explanation why there is no jurisdiction for this.”

“Absolutely worthless”

“Graham is such a waste. He can call anyone.”

His comments prompted outrage from Trump supporters, and now a former GOP lawmaker is calling for Graham to resign.

A former Republican congressman unloaded on Senator Lindsey Graham and his refusal to read the transcripts of witnesses in the impeachment inquiry of President Trump.

David Jolly, a vocal Trump critic and former Florida lawmaker who left the GOP last year, blasted the South Carolina Republican during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Hardball” on Tuesday, suggesting Graham should resign if he will not do his job.

Earlier Tuesday, Graham had dismissed newly released testimony from U.S. Ambassador to the European Union Gordon Sondland as a “bunch of BS” and said he would not read it.

“I don’t know about this guy, Lindsey Graham, I think he’s capable of saying anything,” MSNBC host Chris Matthews said after playing several clips of the GOP lawmaker.

“I think Lindsey Graham should resign if he’s not going to do his job,” Jolly responded.

“He’s the chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee and he said he’s not going to take the time to look at the facts of an allegation against the president of the United States that he worked with a foreign nation to corrupt the domestic elections in 2020,” he continued.

“If Lindsey Graham is unwilling to do his job, he needs to quit the United States Senate and he should hand in his bar license to the state of South Carolina,” Jolly added. “We will never understand why Lindsey Graham has abandoned the convictions of old but instead chosen to embrace Donald Trump.” [Bizpacreview]
