On Monday, Cook County Attorney Kim Foxx held a press conference, slamming the Chicago Police Department for their impending investigation into her actions which allowed actor Jussie Smollett to go free.
Smollett was facing 16 felony counts and involving the Chicago Police Department in a hoax race assault, hate crime.
During the presser, Rep. Bobby Rush likened the Fraternal Order Of the POlice as “a sworn enemy of black people.” Activist Ja’Mal Green claimed Chicago police looked like “Blue Klux Klan,” and neither Jackson or Foxx corrected them.
Let me make this clear, Jussie Smollett, NOT the police department is the sworn enemy of black Americans because when he staged his attack, he made other black people who have legitimately been attacked less believable when an actual attack occurs.
A rally in support of Kim Foxx just happened in which at least one speaker flat out called the FOP racist “blue klux klan.” Foxx did not object to that and carried on with her speech. After her extemely short presser I asked if she agrees that all police are racist: pic.twitter.com/kqM4G8hAze

“I cannot run an office, I cannot run an office that is driven by anger and public sentiment,” Foxx said during a press conference. “I must run an office that looks at the facts, the evidence, and the law on every case. That is my responsibility when I look back at how we have wrongful convictions in the circumstances around them and some that we’re hiding of media attention and others that were not, I cannot put ourselves in the position of being driven by public. We must be driven by the facts the evidence and the law always.”
“I’ve been asking myself for the last two weeks what is this really about and as someone who has lived in this city, who came up from the projects of this city to serve as the first African-American woman in this role, it is disheartening to me and to the women and men for whom I represent that there is not a place I go that I don’t represent for Cabrini,” she continued. “That when we get in these positions to somehow goals post change. Somehow when you do the best and if you put our office on national standards there are people watching what we’re doing in Cook County around criminal justice reform and yet and yet, so I will tell you that this is personal.”
Whenever Jesse Jackson enters the picture you know whatever it is it’s going to become “racist” for his publicity photos and shakedown of some company or someone, in this case, the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). Jackson will ask the FOP for “damages” in order for him not to direct his supporters to protest something at them. What we are witnessing is the power struggle going on in Chicago with Rahm gone and Lightfoot, not a Jackson person. This is going to get ugly real fast!
When the truth doesn’t work, play the race card. Accusing people of racism has become the left’s primary political strategy and is used whenever the facts don’t work to their advantage. I don’t know why Foxx thinks “going there” will help persuade people to her side, but it’s become the automatic go-to response when there’s nothing else to say.
The mayor of Chicago is a renowned Jewish Liberal. The police chief is African American. I would hardly characterize those two as white supremacists.
Foxx is leaping to the race card in hopes of avoiding an investigation. She doesn’t want anyone to know the real reason why she let Smolett go. Someone of substance got to Foxx. There is some serious corruption involved, it has nothing to do with racism, and Foxx knows it.
Someone has something powerful on her to make her do this and she is scared of it being uncovered, or she is almost Rod Blagojevich level corrupt. She had to know this would cause a firestorm, yet someone had something so powerful on her she had to do it. There are zero reasons on the law or the facts to let him go, especially after a grand jury indicted him.
Foxx says she won’t run an office based on anger like that is what people are asking of her. They are asking her to enforce the law.
The largest district attorney bar association have stated emphatically that the way she adjudicated herself was unethical and unseemly. That her plea deal was highly unusual and broke all kinds of established norms.
So save it. Come clean or don’t waste your breath. Also calling the largest FOP union in the state racists that is going to help repair the relationship.
