Report: Mogul Jay-Z Not Happy Kaepernick Turned NFL-Organized Workout Into Media Stunt!

Colin Kapernick is begging to get back into the NFL and has demands about the workout venue…? Yeah, okay.

Some football fans that support former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick and others who don’t give a damn about the man’s future have joined forces and are angry that the out of work part-time national anthem kneeler orchestrated a PR stunt on Saturday when 25 NFL teams claimed they would attend the league-orchestrated workout.

Reports are that the rapper-mogul Jay-Z, who many say is responsible for Kaepernick even having the chance to work out for NFL teams isn’t happy with how things transpired. TMZ says their sources claim Jay-Z felt that Kapernick “turned a legitimate workout into a publicity stunt.”

Kaepernick Ditches NFL Scheduled Workout At Last Minute; For Own Public Session

After Kaepernick finished his workout, for the media, he made this statement:

After reportedly pushing for Colin Kaepernick to get a chance to showcase his skills, it sounds like JAY-Z isn’t too enthused with the way Kap handled his NFL-organized workout.

A source close to the situation tells Complex JAY-Z feels disappointed with Colin’s actions and believes he turned a legitimate workout into a publicity stunt. Kaepernick decided to forgo a workout hosted by the NFL and organized his own after the league barred media access.

Shortly before the session was set to begin on Saturday, Kaepernick informed the public that he would not be going to the event at Falcons’ training facility. Instead, he hosted his own workout at a high school that was 60 miles away in Riverdale, Georgia. Kaepernick said the change was made to allow media coverage during the session as the workout at the training facility would have been closed to journalists. Kaepernick addressed this in the speech he gave following his workout. [Complex]

Nike, Kaepernick’s sponsor had a spokesman respond to their client’s confusing workout.

ESPN’s Steven A. Smith didn’t hold back his disgust over Kaepernick’s actions. Smith concluded that Kaepernick hurt his chances of returning to the league by not complying with the media request. Watch Smith’s release video response:

Smith: “He don’t want to play,” Smith said close to two minutes into his video. “He wants to be a martyr. But guess what, it ain’t working this time.”

“This man wanted a chance. Twenty-five teams show up in Georgia at the Atlanta Falcons practice facility—state of the art facility, NFL personnel, equipment, video, everything, and what does Colin Kaepernick do? Because of some issue with a liability waiver, Colin Kaepernick wants to change the venue. You don’t want to work. You just want to make noise and you want to control the narrative.”

Kaepernick “Can’t-Wait” For Scheduled Weekend Work Out For NFL Coaches — After 3 Years Of Inactivity

Kaepernick destroyed any chance he had of being taken back into the NFL with his bizarre, diva-like behavior in what was basically a job interview. Enjoy your continued unemployment. You changed the location at the last minute, wore a Kunta Kinte (reference African slave) shirt before the workout and you expect people to take you seriously? Your just a goof.

Who would ever hire him after that? He’s become a victim of his own hubris.
