Soon-to-be Fox News host Laura Ingraham had advice for Nancy Pelosi and hopefully, she’s listening when it comes to thinking about allowing illegal kids to stay in this country.
I must have missed the part where someone said ‘Thank You’ for allowing us to live here illegally and providing benefits that are only reserved for American citizens. Under our law, these people have no rights at all and are entitled to nothing.
Yesterday, Rep. Nancy Pelosi reaped the whirlwind and was fed a taste of the crap sandwich Democrats are trying to feed to America in regards to allowing these illegal alien kids to stay in this country. They showed no respect and disrupted a sham press conference as if they actually had rights.
Pelosi is not without blame. She encouraged disrespect and resistance towards the highest office in the land. Eventually, that same behavior will trickle down to anyone else of authority, like herself.
These “DREAMers” are violating the law by their very presence in America and they have absolutely no constitutional rights plus the fact that they were allowed to stay in America by an illegal, unconstitutional “Presidential Decree” by a former Commander-in-chief who refused to adhere and enforce the immigration laws that were and are still in effect.
When DACA was created all the DREAMers should have been taking steps to legalize themselves within the two-year limit they were given to renew their status. This should have been part of the deal.
I had to research it because it has variously been referred to as an executive order by Obama. Actually, it was a June 15, 2012, memorandum from Janet Napolitano (DHS) that announced the program and its prosecutorial discretion. Here are the opening and closing comments. Pay particular attention to the closing.
“By this memorandum, I am setting forth how, in the exercise of our prosecutorial discretion, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) should enforce the Nation’s immigration laws against certain young people who were brought to this country as children and know only this country as home….This memorandum confers no substantive right, immigration status or pathway to citizenship. Only the Congress, acting through its legislative authority, can confer these rights. It remains for the executive branch, however, to set forth policy for the exercise of discretion within the framework of the existing law. I have done so here. Janet Napolitano (Secretary of Homeland Security).”
DACA wasn’t a law. DACA wasn’t even an Executive Order. It was a “deferred action” memo by the Secretary of DHS on Obama’s orders. And she even wrote, “Only Congress can confer these rights.”
