If the establishment Republicans try and pull a stunt like they are hinting upon they will naturally cause an implosion. Let me also make one huge point — Donald Trump never threatened to promote riots, he said he thought bad things would happen and that he wouldn’t lead it. He thought riots would occur. He’s right.
If Trump is not the nominee, then the Republicans will have committed suicide. The people want Trump, at least, a higher percentage of voters. To say that they don’t think their supporters are smart enough to be able to elect someone is an insult that will not be forgotten. I am sure many like myself despise Hilliary and would never, ever vote for her. But if the Republicans pull this sham and force someone on me the I will simply vote independent. Or not at all.
Trump and Sen. [score]Ted Cruz[/score] presently hold a vast majority of the votes with the establishment placeholders containing a grand total of around 100-150 delegates presently. These placeholders are heavily backed by the establishment Republicans, but have no chance of accruing enough delegates to be nominated. Their hope is to force in one of their selections over either Cruz or Trump with rules, etc.
There is one thing that they didn’t factor in and it’s a major issue. Trump and Cruz could make some sort of deal and go 3rd party as a team. Trump has a huge number of supporters and followers and can’t be denied being part of the final equation and Cruz, in my opinion would be along for the ride. Either way, that would simply spell the end of the establishment Republican Party forever.
Trump should warn the GOP establishment that if they rob him at the convention, he will recommend to all of his supporters that they vote against all Republicans seeking office in this election. As tight as this election is likely to be, that should kill the GOP for years to come. The establishment of both parties has been working against ordinary citizens forever. They all feed at the same trough. The establishment is the real enemy of the American people; Trump gives us hope that he can end their domination.
The party should not go against the wishes of the voters. Why bother with all this expensive primary activity if it doesn’t count.
