ICYMI – New York Times does a great retro piece on Al Sharpton/Tawana Brawley – Recommended Watching

Is the world a better place if we are a “colorblind” society? Does one need to see color to understand the difference between right and wrong? Thank you Retro Report for diving deeper into the stories that matter.

MSNBC should never have hired Sharpton, and the cable news network should fire him NOW. MSNBC knew what it was getting when it hired this fraud, who has never acknowledged his lies nor paid the public official whose life he ruined for those lies he told–and still tells–about this case. (Sharpton was convicted, in a civil suit, of slander and libel.)

Six months before MSNBC hired Sharpton, Leslie Stahl interviewed him on “60 Minutes.” She laid out the facts of the case, as well as the civil suit, and asked Sharpton if he would acknowledge the fact that the case was a lie from the beginning and apologize to the public officials he named. He refused both requests. Rachel Maddow and the rest of the MSNBC team should be ashamed of themselves for welcoming and touting this monster.
