It’s fairly simple.
The Democrats will not vote to fix the problem at the border. They want to use the crisis at the border which they blame on Trump as a campaign issue that is all trumps fault. If they vote to fix the problem, then Trump will use it to get reelected to a second term, and the Democrats can’t let that happen.
It’s all about party politics, not what is best for the people at the border.
“The word is out in Central America, this is a Central America problem almost exclusively, that if you make it to America your chances of staying are pretty darn good if you ask for asylum or bring a minor child with you,” Graham said. “The bottom line is, until we change our laws in two areas, this never stops, and that’s the purpose of this hearing.”
“There has to be a breaking point. We’ve reached a breaking point at the border. I cannot imagine what it’s like to go to work every day where half the people are dedicating their time to family members, minors and all that goes with trying to deal with 600,000 people in your custody. Half of our resources are going away from housing people and trying to meet their basic healthcare needs,” Graham continued. “This legislation is designed to deal with the crisis. If it got out in Central America, you could no longer apply for asylum in the United States; they would stop coming. This would be a death blow to the smugglers.”
Until they include provisions to deal with the illegals already here any proposed bill is deficient and defective.
We have many millions of illegals already in the country [and the Demoncrats are attempting to block efforts to get a handle on how many are already here]. They are siphoning the financial life’s blood out of communities by overloading social services and sending whatever cash they can home in the form of Remittances. These remittances are slowly killing the economic life of communities across the nation by removing the circulating cash from those local economies.
We desperately need a method to engage average American citizens and legal resident aliens in the process of reporting and removing illegals. This requires a financial incentive, declaring a sliding scale of tax-exempt bounties for information leading to the arrest and deportation of illegals is the easiest way to accomplish this.
People say it will cost too much. The reduction in financial burden as a result of the removal of these illegal trespassing sponges will quickly put any such program in net cash generating status through the reduced strain on public resources.
We can try that or maybe this — apply tariffs to all import products from those Central America countries until they stop the defection of their citizens. All aid to those countries to be suspended immediately until the problem resolved – instead of suspension aid to be reduced by a dollar figure per illegal that appears at the US border so that they the cost to themselves.
Something has to work because what they are doing now is just kicking the can down the road.
