Gov. Rick Scott SUSPENDS Brenda Snipes Citing Malfeasance And Incompetence

This couldn’t have happened to a better person.

Brenda Snipes, the former Broward County elections supervisor, was suspended on Friday when Gov. Rick Scott removed her for malfeasance and incompetence. I think it’s a few years too late but better now then later.

I don’t know why it took Scott so long to get this done. Republicans have got to get a stronger backbone and stop letting the Democrats run over on us! We’ve got to start taking the narrative back and stop allowing Democrats to tell our story because they’ve been getting it wrong for years, on purpose.

Gov. Scott also accused Snipes of election fraud. Hopefully, that comes with some jail time, what do you think?

Snipes had tried to resign by sending Scott a letter informing him that her time was up and she was leaving but Scott just changed the game.

Scott signed an executive order late Friday afternoon removing Snipes from office. To back his decision, he listed a litany of well-publicized problems, including the misplacement of thousands of ballots during the recount, a missed state deadline to file results and the inadvertent mixing of invalid ballots with valid ones.

“Every eligible voter in Florida deserves their vote to be counted and should have confidence in Florida’s elections process,” Scott said in a statement. “After a series of inexcusable actions, it’s clear that there needs to be an immediate change in Broward County and taxpayers should no longer be burdened by paying a salary for a Supervisor of Elections who has already announced resignation.”

Scott replaced Snipes with Peter Antonacci, a former lobbyist and one-time general counsel to Scott — a scenario Broward Democrats worried about when Snipes submitted a resignation letter on Nov. 18. Snipes had planned to step down in January, but she won’t get that opportunity now that Scott has suspended her, effectively ending her tenure.

Snipes intially got her job when then-Gov. Jeb Bush appointed her in 2003 to replace the suspended Miriam Oliphant. She was elected and reelected after.

I guess “suspending” means she’s suspended before her retirement takes effect, effectively postponing her outrageous pension as well. The fraud and criminal charges are all in play, but the suspension had to be done now if not several weeks or years ago.

Poor gal, she tried her best, didn’t she? :) She’s a perfect example of someone who is incompetent being put into place and kept there even after it was apparent she could not do the job.
