Grab Your Popcorn: Ginsburg Fires Back at Angry Liberals Blaming Her For Not Retiring Under Obama

So, why didn’t Ginsburg retire when Obama was president?

I’ll tell you why…

Obama didn’t want to replace Ginsburg, a radical progressive, with a mealy milquetoast moderate Democrat.

Remember, the GOP controlled the Senate for most of Obama’s reign.

They never would’ve approved a staunch progressive to the SCOTUS. Obama would have had to relent and put somebody up who was even more moderate than that sap Merrick Garland, and he did not want to do that.

Granted, she could’ve retired during Obama’s first two years in office, but he was so focused on destroying the country with Obamacare, and he likely never thought he’d lose both houses of Congress.

Whoops!

Besides, the left truly believed they’d keep the White House in 2016. So, when faced with the dilemma of an aging RBG, they figured it was better to roll the dice and wait for 2016, then end up with a softy in her seat.

That gamble will not work out for them.

Meanwhile, liberals are growing more and more frustrated as 2020 looks bleaker, and RGB’s health looks more grim.

The SCOTUS justice just underwent 3 weeks of radiation treatment for pancreatic cancer, on top of everything else she’s dealing with.

Reality is setting in amongst the left, and they likely realize her seat will be flipped very, very red, and they are frustrated and angry. But, as Ginsburg puts it, who would a GOP Senate have approved to take her place?

She’s right.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fired back on Wednesday against critics who say the liberal justice should have retired while President Barack Obama was in office.

“When that suggestion is made, I ask the question: Who do you think the president could nominate that could get through the Republican Senate? Who you would prefer on the court than me?” Ginsburg said.

Ginsburg’s comments came during an interview with NPR’s Nina Totenberg at an event in New York City.

While it’s not a gamble that will likely pay off for the Democrats, their decision to keep RBG on the court was probably their smartest move to try and protect that “radical” seat.
