On Wednesday night, Fox News contributor Rachel Campos-Duffy laid out a perfectly honest and logical question during her appearance on On The Story with Martha McCallum.
Campos-Duffy was on level 10 (being the highest on the frustration meter) blasted Rep Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez’s call for the abolition of the Department of Homeland Security. Her partner in crime, Rep. Ilhan Omar had already called for the ending of the agency a couple of months ago.
Campos-Duffy: “We’re looking at someone who basically wants to give you the wishlist for terrorists, the wish lists for criminal cartels and sex traffickers.” You have to wonder is she working for them or the American people?”
Fellow panelist Juan Williams tried to remind Campos-Duffy of the many concerns conservative had back in 2002 when the new federal agency was created in response to the 9/11 attacks.
Campos-Duffy: “That is not the concern that AOC has. AOC likes big federal agencies, the bigger the better. Her concern is with the vision of DHS. She doesn’t want to just eliminate DHS, she wants to abolish ICE, get rid of Border Patrol. She agrees with Julian Castro in decriminalizing illegal border crossings.”
When Campos-Duffy’s argument is laid out like that, you have to wonder why exactly AOC and Omar want to get rid of DHS and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Williams tried to bring up alleged accounts of abhorrent border detention conditions including a photo which looked like jail prisoners rushing up to the window to get their photo taken, but it doesn’t actually mean the room is overcrowded.
