Robert S. Mueller III, the 6th Director of the FBI, will take over as the Independent Special Prosecutor into the alleged Russian meddling of the 2016 Presidential election.
Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein broke the news earlier today amid requests from Democrats who felt someone, anyone from the Trump administration wasn’t adequate. You can probably expect this every time now that the Republicans and admin gave in to their requests.
Mueller served under George W. Bush and Barack Obama. James Comey also replaced him during Obama’s term.

Former FBI Director Robert S. Mueller III has been appointed independent special prosecutor to take over the Justice Department investigation of Russian meddling in the 2016 election and any coordination between the Trump campaign and Russian intelligence.
Deputy Atty. Gen. Rod Rosenstein announced the decision after a week of rising pressure on the Justice Department to ensure the probe remains independent of the White House.
“My decision is not a finding that crimes have been committed or that prosecution is warranted,” Rosenstein said. “I have made no such determination.”
But Rosenstein said that “based on the unique circumstances, the public interest requires me to place this investigation under the authority of a person who exercises a degree of independence from the normal chain of command.”
He said a special counsel is necessary in order for the “American people to have full confidence in the outcome.”
Mueller will have the ability to hire a staff and request a budget from the Department of Justice. He will resign from his law firm, WilmerHale.
The Russian narrative is a media concocted fantasy created to distract and tear down President Trump’s ability to maintain government and work his agenda. The American people are watching this every day and are sick of these optics.
One of the reasons for Mueller is probably because of a new NBC/Wall Street Journal poll has found, the number of people who approve of a special prosecutor is actully overwhelming: 78 percent of Americans called for a special prosecutor while just 15 percent supported an investigation led by Congress.
Do you agree with me there is no story here? Mueller won’t find anything “original” leading anyone to believe Russia meddled in our elections to help Trump win. Share your opinions about the special prosecutor below in the comment section.
