I don’t know if I have ever heard of anything like this before.
Arizona law enforcement claims a mother/daughter combination killed Sandra Aven, 77, back in 2017 and have been cashing her monthly checks ever since.
Tara Aven, 46, and her daughter Briar Aven, 24, were arrested and charged with first-degree murder, evidence tampering, and fraud schemes after the murder of the grandmother.
The family’s matriarch’s body was found “in the home.” That bit of news shocked Prescott Police Officer David Fuller who told ABC 15: “I’ve been in law enforcement about 30 years now, never seen anything like this at all.”
What’s crazy is how the police just got a report of how Sandra had not been seen for a long time. How responsive is that? It’s 2019 and if you haven’t seen someone since 2017 and they were elderly, wouldn’t you be asking questions?
When law enforcement contacted Briar about the disappearance of her grandmother, she told them that Sandra was out of town. Both Briar and Tara gave inconsistent information which prompted the police to enter the house, where they discovered the body.
Police also reported that Tara and Briar cashed numerous monthly payment checks sent to Sandra for several years which makes this worse.
