Exclusive: Brett Baier interviews Mitt Romney: Obama was unable to fulfill promises

On President Obama’s speech, Mitt Romney said he was “disappointed.” He continued, “There was nothing in the speech that gives confidence that the president knows what he is doing when it comes to jobs and the economy. As a matter of fact, he hardly even mentioned jobs or economy.”

“He, in his speech, laid out a few new promises, but the old promises he gave, he didn’t report on, and the reason he didn’t do that is because he was unable to fulfill the old promises.”

On the question of why Romney did not mention “troops” and the war in Afghanistan in his speech at the RNC, Romney responded, “I described in my speech a commitment to a strong military unlike the president’s decision to cut our military.” Romney also pointed out that he went to American Legion during the convenion, which he says made a much bigger statement.
