Dramatic Video Shows Attempted Assassination of Bulgarian Minority Party Leader; Gun Malfunctioned at Close Range

Here is video of an attempted assassination of the leader of the Turkish Minority Party in Bulgaria – Ahmed Dogan. In the video, you see a 25 year-old would-be assassin jump on stage, approach Dogan while he was speaking at a Party Conference, and aim a pistol at his head. You hear a faint click, but the gun did not go off. Dogan then wrestled briefly with the assailant while security and onlookers rushed the stage to come to his aid. The assailant was repeatedly punched and kicked by those who rushed the stage.


UK SUN: Footage of the incident shows a crazed gunman jumping on stage and pointing a small black pistol close to Ahmed Dogan’s head. Mr Dogan – leader of Bulgaria’s Movement for Rights and Freedoms party – instinctively raises his arm in defence, but it appears the pistol fails to go off. The two men wrestle briefly beside the rostrum, before security staff race on stage and bundle the assailant to the floor amid loud boos from the audience.  In the ensuing chaos, furious delegates and officials dressed in smart suits are seen raining punches and kicks down on the hapless assailant.

Police later said the 25-year-old suspect was armed with a gas pistol and two knives, though his motive was unclear. He was arrested. Mr Dogan, 58, escaped unscathed. Party official Ceyhan Ibryamov said: “Ahmed Dogan is in good health. Everything is under control.” . . . Read More
