Dem State Rep Charged With Drunken Driving And Impersonating A Police Officer

Democrats are reprobates, that is all.

On Saturday night, an Indiana state Representative, Dan Forestal, showed up outside an Indianapolis couple’s home claiming to be a “legit officer doing a drug bust,” according to police.

However, Forestal wasn’t a police officer. He was also intoxicated at the time when was impersonating a police officer according to the police report. After being alerted about Forestal’s attempt, Indianapolis police officers responded to the scene, pulled Forestal who initially cooperated with the officer before resisting arrest, which he was also charged for.

Indiana state Rep. Dan Forestal (D) was charged with drunken driving and impersonating a police officer after he reportedly tried to buy cocaine at a local bar, according to court documents reviewed by CNN.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department told CNN on Thursday that Forestal, 36, was charged with one count of operating a vehicle while intoxicated, resisting law enforcement and impersonating a public servant. Police said his encounter with the police officer occurred Saturday night after authorities received reports of someone impersonating a police officer in Indianapolis.

Forestal, who was elected in 2012, reportedly told a local resident he was executing a drug bust in the area and, after showing a badge on a silver chain, asked where the “people selling drugs” lived, according to a probably cause affidavit reviewed by CNN.

Officers ultimately discovered Forestal in his car, saying he initially refused to exit the vehicle. Police arrested him after a brief struggle, according to the affidavit. [The Hill]

Any State Representative convicted of a felony or certain misdemeanors should be booted from office. But I stress the ‘convicted’ part.

If he/she is found innocent or charges dropped, it is up to their district constituents to recall them or primary them. Heck, even IF found guilty, it is still up to his constituents, if they want to, at that point, still be represented by a convicted criminal, more power to them.

There is a process which should apply equally to all Americans.
