Now, as seniors are being crushed under the weight of ObamaCare, and as their poll numbers plummet, Democrats like Kay Hagan, Mary Landrieu and Mark Pryor admit in a letter to Centers for Medicare & Medicaid that they cut Medicare for seniors.
Their letter reads:
“We write to raise serious concerns about the Medicare Advantage (MA) 2015 rate notice and the impact further cuts may have on the millions of individuals enrolled in the program,” the senators write. “We are strongly committed to preserving the high quality health plan choices and benefits that our constituents receive through the MA program.
Given the impact that payment policies could have on our constituents, we ask that you prioritize beneficiaries’ experience and minimize disruption in maintaining payment levels for 2015.”
Kay Hagan, Mary Landrieu and Mark Pryor promised voters that ObamaCare wouldn’t harm seniors who rely on Medicare, but that wasn’t true,” said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. “Democrats like Hagan, Landrieu and Pryor have repeatedly deceived voters.
Now even though they admit that they slashed Medicare Advantage to pay for ObamaCare, Democrats are trying to blame others for their broken promises. Democratic Senators’ reckless cuts to Medicare mean fewer benefits and health care choices for seniors. Deceiving seniors about Medicare isn’t the first lie Democrats told about ObamaCare, but it serves as the latest reminder that voters can’t trust them to keep their word.
ObamaCare “enacted $200 Billion in cuts to Medicare Advantage over 10 years”
- In 2009, Democratic Senators promised seniors who depend on Medicare that they were going to “protect Medicare” and that seniors would “not see a drop in their Medicare coverage.”
- But in 2010 Senate Democrats voted to slash Medicare Advantage to pay for ObamaCare. (H.R. 4872, CQ Vote #72: Motion agreed to 56-42: R 0-40; D 54-2; I 2-0, 3/24/10)
- Nearly 15 million seniors nationwide (close to 30% of all Medicare beneficiaries) rely on Medicare Advantage plans for their Medicare coverage. Many of these are low-income seniors who choose these options because they can’t afford the Medigap policies that more financially secure seniors use.
- According to America’s Health Insurance Plans, in states like North Carolina, New Hampshire, Arkansas and Virginia, seniors on Medicare Advantage plans experienced cost increases and benefit cuts of an estimated $50-60 per month as a result of this year’s 6 percent cut to the program due to ObamaCare.
The Democratic Party and their socialist agenda was the perfect group of suckers for Obama and his foreign backers to dupe. He just named Robert Malley as head of the NSC. Malley has ties to Hamas and the PLO. Because of these ties he was forced out of then candidate Obama’s 2008 campaign team. Now he’s back and he’s in charge because Obama no longer needs to pretend about who and what he is. He knows the Democrats have no chance to retain the Senate as he bullies small business owners to swear they aren’t cutting jobs because of obamacare.
Where is the loyal opposition to this dictator? Sitting on their hands helping him cover up his scandals. Willing co-conspirators to the destruction of America.
