Michael Cohen’s taxi medallion business is under scrutiny and being federally investigated now.
I heard the taxi medallion business is huge. One medallion cost thousands, but it seems that Cohen has run afoul of that lucrative business and amongst the trouble, he’s in with Special Counsel Robert Mueller, he’s not getting any help being named in this investigation.
Cohen looks like he is going away for a while, we don’t know which charge yet.

Federal investigators are looking into whether Cohen underreported income from his taxi medallion business as thousands of dollars in cash payments over the past five years, TheWSJ reported.
Investigators are also examining Cohen’s relationship with Sterling National Bank, the bank that provided loans to Cohen’s taxi medallion business. A source told TheWSJ that one focus of the inquiry is whether Cohen inflated the value of company assets used as collateral for loans from the bank.
Freidman, a convicted felon, is reportedly cooperating with federal prosecutors in the investigation. He accepted a plea deal in May in which he admitted he failed to pay $5 million in taxes on his taxi medallion income.
Cohen is also reportedly under investigation over payments he made before the 2016 election to women who claimed to have had affairs with Donald Trump. The FBI raided Cohen’s home, office and hotel room April 9 as part of the investigation.
It seems as if they are rolling everything on Cohen to flip him against Trump, but the bodies go deep with this one. Cohen has a lot of trouble that keeps popping to the surface, and the more that keeps appearing, the less likely Mueller will be able to use him down the line.
Wasn’t this entire investigation supposed to be about Russian collusion anyway?
The investigation is being led by the U.S. Attorney’s Office in the Southern District of New York rather than the special counsel’s office, which is investigating possible collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian government. It is unclear whether prosecutors hope to force Cohen to cooperate against his former boss in the Russia probe.

I don’t know if Cohen will survive this. This situation doesn’t look good at all.
