Former Congressional Black Caucus Staffer Was Blackballed For Reporting Sexual Harassment

Her name is M. Reese Everson, and she has a story to tell.

She was a former Congressional Black Caucus Fellow who claims she was sexually harassed back in 2013. She said she reported the harassment after she left the office to get away from that environment. What happened next is unconscionable. She was ratted out by the person she spoke with confidence. Everson was then blackballed from jobs and making a living. The names of all senators and representatives who have been accused of sexual harassment should be revealed to the public. The details of their alleged behavior should be known to all, and the amount of taxpayer money that was used to settle each case needs to be revealed.

A former Congressional Black Caucus Fellow told Laura Ingraham that she had been sexually harassed by a congressman in 2013.

M. Reese Everson told Laura Ingraham that a member of congress asked if he could flirt with her “in order [for her] to excel in [her] career.”

She said that, at the time, she did not see the encounter as harassment, but as an “inappropriate experience.”

“OK. I’ve got to get out of here,” Everson recounted telling herself at the time.

She said she tried to move to another Congressional office position, but was “retaliated against, wrongfully terminated and blackballed.”

Everson said that some on Capitol Hill are forced to work in such “pervasive, incestuous silence… that keeps women from speaking up.”

She said she submitted a formal complaint to the Capitol’s accountability office, but was told she was ineligible for their services as an “intern or fellow.”

It is beyond hypocrisy that these so-called “leaders” of ours can engage in such behavior and then secretly hide their actions from the voters, all the while acting holier than thou and pointing fingers at others.

The country is all ears now so say the name or you are part of the problem. Don’t let this happen to another young person.
